The front shows the healthy rain forest, still untouched by humans. You see parrots, an exotic butterfly, a snake and a leopard strolling along a creek. There are big trees with huge trunks that are covered with lianas and other vegetation.
I started by positioning the main three objects, i.e. the parrots, butterfly and leopard, using a stencil to control the outer shape of each object. Then I added more foundation by sketching the tree trunks. Having several pictures of trees and flowers as references, I started in the upper right, filling the empty spaces. I continued counter-clockwise, covering approximately one quarter in each session (i.e. one day).
