Russian previous project next project textile painting home

This is my first project on jeans. I used a Cyrillic font to print out my name and the Russian sentence "my name is Ingo". On the back side, I added two hand symbols (taken from the ubiquitous "Wingdings" font) and the caption "Follow me". There is no conscious deeper meaning behind this; I just wanted to become acquainted with the material and techniques.

date Apr 1993
time 2 days
object blue jeans
technique brushfreehand

I used a diluted mixture of opaque white and black for the letters and symbols. With a size 2 brush, it was pretty easy to paint; almost like writing with a pen.
